Abstract

The secret to the success of any organization lies in its trustworthy and satisfied employees. This principle also applies to news organizations such as news channels and newspapers. Journalists will be able to carry out their responsibilities properly only if the institution's environment is conducive to them, they get job security, and their basic needs. Journalists working for Urdu media in Pakistan are very insecure about their jobs. According to the World Bank, there are about three newspapers for five people in the country, while television sets are available for two people. The prevalence of professional distrust, anxiety, and boredom among the journalists working in such a large number of media outlets, especially Urdu media, is a matter of scientific basis. But research is useless. The performance of any journalism organization depends on the professional satisfaction of those who work in it. Therefore, in this study, the professional satisfaction of the journalists has been measured by various measurable factors. The total number of print heads in the country is about 7.2 million. This research covers that journalists working in Urdu media have professional distrust regarding newsroom environment, editorial policies, job security, development opportunities and job security. For this purpose, a survey was conducted with 200 journalists working in various Urdu news channels and newspapers. Research has shown that reporters are more distrustful of their jobs than copy editors.
